The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 2 exam [Combined Civil Services Examination Group II (CCSE-II)] is conducted for recruitment to various positions within the state government. The commission releases the vacancies under two divisions, Group 2 and Group 2A. Group 2 and Group 2A have only one exam difference i.e., interview. The TNPSC Group 2 Exam consists of 3 phases: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The services are divided into Group 2 and Group 2A. The interview round is conducted for only Group 2 vacancies. For Group 2A vacancies there is no interview.

TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam Pattern 2024
Before going to the syllabus, check the prelims and main detailed exam patterns. The Prelims exam is just to screen out the non-serious candidates from the selection process. The prelims exam is only qualifying in nature and candidates have to score a minimum of 90 marks to qualify. Here we have provided the main highlight of the TNPSC Group 2 Prelims exam.
- Questions from General Tamil/General English, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test will be of S.S.L.C. Standard level.
- Questions from General Studies will be of Degree Standard level.

Important Points:
- All questions will be bilingual i.e., they are available in both the English and Tamil languages.
- The minimum qualifying mark for the TNPSC Prelims Exam is 90 out of 300.
TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam Pattern 2024
Candidates who pass the prelims exam will proceed to the mains exam, which is divided into two parts: Paper I and Paper II. Only the Paper II of candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I will be evaluated.
The TNPSC Group 2 Mains Exam has two papers which are Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 2 is qualifying in nature while Paper 2 is both scoring and qualifying in nature.
- The marks secured in the Mains exam will be considered for the final merit list.
- Paper 1 is only qualifying in nature. Those who qualify for Paper I, their Paper II sheet will be evaluated.
- Minimum 102 and 90 marks are required to qualify in group 2 and group 2A main exams respectively.
- The TNPSC Group 2 exam is bilingual and available in both the English and Tamil languages.
