CBSE Class 12 Biotechnology Question Paper Pattern 2025

The CBSE Class 12 Biotechnology question paper has 33 questions divided into five sections. Section A has 16 very short answer questions of 1 mark each. Section B has 6 short answer questions worth 2 marks each. Section C includes 5 questions, each carrying 3 marks. Section D has 3 long answer questions of 5 marks each.

Finally, Section E contains 3 case-based questions, each carrying 4 marks. The paper is designed to assess a mix of theoretical knowledge, application, and analytical skills. All questions are compulsory, but internal choices are provided in some sections. Wherever necessary, neat and properly labeled diagrams should be drawn.

  1. Section–A contains 12 Multiple choice questions and 4 Assertion-Reasoning based questions of 1 mark each;
  2. Section–B has 5 short answer questions of 2 marks each;
  3. Section –C has 7 short answer questions of 3 marks each;
  4. Section D has two case-based questions of 4 marks;
  5. Section E has three long answer questions of 5 marks each.
  6. All questions are compulsory.
  7. There is no overall choice. However, internal choices have been provided in some questions. A student has to attempt only one of the alternatives in such questions.
