The education minister while addressing the press announced that this year they have added 3 more categories to the list, i.e., Open University, State Government Funded University, and Skill University. As per the latest NIRF Ranking, IIT Madras ranked 1 being the Top Engineering college in India for BTech, whereas the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru is a Top NIRF Ranked among the University category.
