NEET 2024 News: Release Center Wise NEET Result 2024 by Saturday, SC

On July 18, 2024, the Supreme Court listened to more than 30 pleas filed related to the NEET Scam 2024. The bench constituting of (CJI) DY Chandrachud with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was hearing the matter.

In the morning NTA shared that after the removal of grace marks from the tally, the total count of NEET Toppers 2024 has been reduced from 67 to 17. The body also shared that 44 out of the 1,563 candidtes who appeared for NEET Re-Test 2024 were among the NEET Toppers 2024 who got ranks in the top 67 list.

NTA also added that they have registered 153 cases of unfair means and that the committee has recommended withholding of the results of 81 candidates and debarring 54 candidates for up to 3 years and also that a total of 16 FIRs have been registered regarding the NEET Result 2024.

An advocate shared that there are 56,000 medical seats for admission in government medical colleges while admission for 53,000 seats is offered by private institutions. Therefore the total count for which the NEET 2024 Exam was conducted is 1,08,000. But the total number of NEET 2024 candidates was more than 23 lakhs out of which 22 lakh candidates didn’t qualify for admission.

In response to this CJI said, what if someone did not get into 1,08,000 legitimately?

After taking on to various data presented by the authorities, CJI mentioned that there has been an increase of 33% applicants in NEET Exam 224 when compared with NEET Exam 2022 but the rise of toppers has been of 300%.

The court directed NTA to release center-wise NEET Result 2024 at its official website by Saturday noon, i.e., July 20, 2024.

By the end of the day, the court announced that the hearing in the matter would be continued on July 22, 2024 (Monday).

The Solicitor General after listening to the next hearing’s date shared that the NEET Counselling 2024 is to start on July 24. To this, the advocate asked to stay the counselling but the court suggested discussing this in the next hearing, i.e., July 22, 2024.
