The National Testing Agency, which is the conducting body for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has announced the NEET Dress Code at its official portals. The examination body has stated that all the applicants who are to appear in the NEET 2025 Exam need to follow the dress code to enter the examination hall.
The NEET Dress Code 2025 released by the NTA comprises all the wearables that are allowed inside the examination hall, and it is required that aspirants follow it, as failing to follow the NEET Dress Code can lead to the cancellation of the candidate’s candidature and entry into the exam hall.
NEET Dress Code 2025
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the single largest medical examination conducted every year to admit students for various medical examinations like the MBBS and BDS. In a step to maintain exam decorum and discipline, the NTA releases the NEET Dress Code every year before the conduction of the NEET Exam. This year, the NTA has announced the conduction of the NEET 2025 Exam on May 04, 2025; therefore, all the aspirants must now check the NEET Dress Code and mark all the wearables that are allowed inside the exam hall along with the prohibited once.
NEET Dress Code 2025 for Male Aspirants
The information bulletin released by the NTA on its official website specifies all the items and wearables that candidates can carry inside the examination hall. Below, we have detailed the complete list of allowed essentials inside the examination hall for the male aspirants as per the NEET Dress Code 2025.
- Only lightweight, comfortable, half-sleeve shirts and t-shirts are allowed
- Avoid wearing long sleeves, ties, belts, and extra clothes like a scarf.
- Jewellery like bracelets, any type of thread, rings, or earrings are strictly prohibited.
- Wear no-heeled shoes without any metal buckles. Students are advised to wear simple slippers.
- Try to wear casual pants and a shirt, and simple slippers.
- Try to avoid wearing caps, hats, goggles, etc.
NEET Dress Code 2025 for Female Aspirants

- Female candidates are not allowed to wear brooches, flowers, badges, or jeans with prints. Only simple denim jeans with no prints are allowed.
- Ornaments such as earrings, nose rings, pendants, necklaces, etc., are not at all preferable for females in the examination hall.
- Female candidates can wear light-coloured denim pants and half-sleeve t-shirts, given that the size of the shirt buttons should be medium.
- Kurti is not allowed for female candidates during the examination.
- Leggings and palazzo are not allowed in NEET 2025 for female candidates.
NEET Dress Code 2025 – Provisions for Customary Dress

- Customary Dress: If a candidate belongs to a religion that requires them to wear any special dress or particular customary dress will be permitted to do so
- Sikh Candidates: All the sikh candidates are permitted to wear their kara, kirpan, or kanga during the exam as per their religious beliefs
- Muslim Female Candidates: Female Muslim candidates can wear burkha inside the examination hall
- Notification: All the candidates with requirements for special customary dress needed to enter the details in the NEET Application Form
- Early Arrival: All such candidates are required to reach their examination hall before the required timings for the timely completion of exam formalities.
NEET Dress Code 2025 – List of Prohibited Items
Before going for the NEET Exam 2025, aspirants are required to check the list of prohibited items announced along with the NEET Dress Code 2025. Check the list of prohibited items here:
- Any food items opened or a packed water bottle, etc..
- Other items like wallet, goggles, handbags, belts, cap, Watch, bracelet, camera, etc..
- Any communication device like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphones, health bands, ornament or a metallic item, etc.
- Stationery items such as textual material, geometry or pencil box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, pen drives, eraser, log table,
- Electronic pen, scanner, writing pad, bits of paper, etc..
- Other items that can be used for unfair means by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth devices, etc.
