The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notice regarding the JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern Revised at the official website https://nta.ac.in/. The notification shares the discontinuation of the 5 optional questions in Section B of the JEE Mains Exam 2025. The changes have been introduced in the exam pattern for the JEE (Main) 2025 for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2 A (B Arch), and Paper 2 B (B Planning). NTA has started the registration window for JEE Main 2025 January session from October 28 which is scheduled to remain open till November 22, 2024 (09:00 PM).
JEE Main 2025 Paper Pattern Changed
During the onset of COVID-19, the NTA has introduced an option to attempt any 5 questions out of 10 questions in Section B of each subject in JEE Main. After the WHO declaration of COVID-19 as an end of a public health emergency, NTA now shifted to the old format of JEE Main Exam, where candidates need to answer all 5 questions without any options. This Changed Exam Structure is implemented in Section B of each subject in JEE Main 2025.
In the last 4 editions of JEE Mains Exam, the question papers constituted a total of 90 questions divided into Section A and Section B. Section A contained 20 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics while Section B contained 10 questions from each subject. In the changed pattern, the JEE Mains 2025 Question Paper will constitute 25 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

NTA JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025
The B.E/B.Tech (Paper 1) will contain 75 questions of 300 marks split into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section will feature 25 questions, which include 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 5 numerical questions. The B.Arch and B.Planning consist of questions based on Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing or Planning. The exam uses negative markings for wrong answers, except for the numerical questions.

JEE Main Paper 1 Exam Pattern 2025
The NTA has shared the pattern for JEE Mains Paper 1, which has two sections: Section A and Section B. NTA JEE Main Paper 2 Exam Pattern 2025
JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 will be conducted online for most sections. However, the Drawing section in the B.Arch paper will be held offline. Students will complete all other parts of the exam using a computer, but the drawing part requires manual work on paper. This format ensures a practical evaluation of drawing skills while keeping other sections in a digital format for convenience.
