JoSAA Counselling 2024 – Seat Allotment List, Cut Off, Choice Filling

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority started the registrations for the JoSAA 2024 Counselling process on June 10, 2024. Candidates were able to register themselves for the JoSAA counselling by simply visiting the official website www.josaa.nic.in. Only those candidates who have successfully qualified for the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main 2024 and JEE Advanced 2024 are eligible for JoSAA Counselling 2024. As per the released notification, the last date for the registration process was June 18, 2024. This year, the JoSAA 2024 counseling for seat allotment is being conducted in five different rounds. The other four rounds seat allotment results are scheduled to be published on June 27, July 4, July 10, and July 17, respectively.

What is JoSAA?

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is an authority set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and smoothen the process of admission for over 100 of institutions in India. This authority takes care of the admission process for major institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and many Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).

JoSAA is a single counselling platform for admission into all these major institutions. The objective of MHRD behind going for JoSAA was to make the admission process smoother, more effective, more efficient, and more transparent while ensuring that no vacant seat is left once the admissions are closed.

All the engineering aspirants who have qualified for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced are eligible to apply to participate in the JoSAA counselling 2024. This year, counselling will be conducted to allocate more than 50,000 engineering seats in some of the top-rated and renowned engineering institutions in India.

JoSAA 2024 Counselling

As per the announced date, the JoSAA counselling registration has begun on June 10, 2024. The complete JoSAA 2024 Counselling process is done in online mode for admission to B.Tech courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates who will be allotted seats in each round of counselling will be required to choose between Freeze, Float, or Slide option. Candidates who opt for the freeze option will be required to complete the reporting process before the prescribed deadline. JoSAA 2024 counselling will include registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and acceptance of seats.

JoSAA 2024 Counselling Registration

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority began the JoSAA Counselling 2024 Registration process on June 10, 2024 at its official website i.e.,www.josaa.nic.in. The complete Registration process will be conducted in online mode. Below we have discussed the complete process for JoSAA Counselling 2024 Registration.

Step 1: Registration

1. Visit the official website of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority at www.josaa.nic.in.
2. Click on the JoSAA Counselling 2024 registration link available on the home page.
3. Fill in your respective JEE Main 2024 registration number and password.
4. Click on the submit button.

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking of Choices

1. Once JoSAA 2024 Counselling registration is successfully completed, candidates will have to fill out their respective choices in an online mode.
2. During the choice-filling process, candidates will have to select their preferred courses and institutes.
3. As per the eligibility of the candidates, the available seats are displayed on the screen.
4. Then the candidates will have to select the choices as per their preference.
5. Once the choices are filled, candidates will be able to arrange them in order of their preference by clicking on “Arrange Filled Choices”.
6. All the candidates appearing for the JoSAA 2024 counselling are advised to fill in a maximum number of choices.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

1. Now candidates will be allotted seats based on their rank, choices entered for programmes and colleges, and availability of seats.
2. Then candidates will be given three options: Freeze, Float, and Slide.
3. If they are satisfied with the institute and programme, they can choose the Freeze option; otherwise, they can choose either Float or Slide.

Step 4: Document Verification

The document verification will also be conducted in online mode. In this step, candidates are required to get their documents verified as per the schedule.

For NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs

Candidates applying for the NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs will be required to verify the following documents.

• Three Passport Size Photographs identical to the one Uploaded in JEE Main 2024 Registration
• Provisional Seat Allotment Letter
• Candidate Undertaking
• Proof of Fee Payment by e-challan or Internet Banking of SBI for Seat Acceptance (Rs.15,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates and Rs.35,000 for others)
• JEE Main 2024 Score Card
• JEE Mains admit card
• 10th Standard Mark Sheet or Date of Birth Proof
• 12th Standard (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
• Photo Identity Card
• Medical Certificate
• Category Certificate (if applicable)
• PwD Certificate (if applicable)
• Print out of Filled Choices for Seat Allotment

For IITs

All those candidates who are applying for the IITs ae required to verify all the documents discussed below.

• Provisional Seat Allotment Letter
• Two Passport Size Photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE Advanced 2024 registration
• Undertaking by the Candidate
• Proof of Seat Acceptance Fee Payment by e-challan or net banking of SBI (Rs.15,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates and Rs.35,000 for others)
• Valid Photo Identity Card
• Date of Birth Proof (10th Standard Mark Sheet)
• 12th Standard (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
• Medical Certificate
• Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Certificate for PwD (if applicable)
• Passport (for foreign nationals) of candidates & parents or OCI Certificate or PIO Card (if applicable)
• Registration cum Locked Choices for Seat Allotment

Step 5: Reporting at the Institute

In this last step, candidates will have to report to their allotted institute, deposit the remaining fee and complete other admission-related formalities.

JoSAA Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to take part in the JoSAA Counselling 2024, students need to have passed the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams with the minimum required criteria. The requirements for getting approval for appearing in JoSAA Counselling 2024 are:

• Must have qualified for the JEE Advanced 2024 for academic programs at IITs and ISM;
• Must have qualified for the JEE Advanced 2024 for preparatory courses at IITs and ISM;
• The student needs to have rank in the JEE Main 2024 Paper-1 for BTech/BE at IITs, NITs, IITs, and Other-GFTIs;
• Must have secured a rank in JEE Main 2024 Paper-2 for BArch/BPlanning programs at BTech/BE at IITs, NITs, IITs, and Other-GFTIs;
• Should have completed 12th class education while having mathematics as one of the main subjects;

Documents Required for JoSAA Counselling 2024

Students appearing for the JoSAA Counselling 2024 need to have some basic documents ready with them, such as:

• Three passport-size photographs similar to one uploaded in JEE Main 2023 application form;
• Candidate Undertaking;
• Valid photo Identity Card;
• Category Certificate (if applicable);
• Registration and Filled Choices for Seat Allotment;
• PwD Certificate (if applicable);
• Provisional JoSAA seat allotment letter 2024;
• OCI Certificate or PIO Card (if applicable);
• Class 12 (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate;

How to check the JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024 Result?

The process for checking the JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024 result is listed below:

• Search for the official website of JoSAA 2024 – josaa.nic.in;
• Click on the tab “view seat allotment result”;
• Fill out the form with your JEE Main application number, password, and security pin;
• Press the “login” button and your seat allotment result will be displayed on the screen;
• Check and download the result;

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024

The Round 1 Seat Allotment Result for JoSAA 2024 has been released at https://josaa.nic.in/ on June 20, 2024. All the candidates who registered for the 1st round of JoSAA Counselling 2024 can now visit the official website and check their results using the JEE (Main) Application Number, Password, and Security PIN as the login credentials.

To confirm their admission, students need to complete fee payment by 17:00 PM on June 24, 2024 at the payment portal. The deadline to upload documents to confirm the admission process is June 25, 2024 (17:00 PM) for the JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024.
