PSTET 2025 - Highlights

The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test-2025 (PSTET) is a state-level exam held once a year to determine the eligibility of candidates as Classes 1 to 8 teachers in the Punjab schools. The PSTET Exam consists of 2 papers. Paper I is for candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary Teacher) and Paper 2 will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT- Trained Graduate Teacher). PSTET 2025 Application Form

Candidates who want to be eligible for appointment as teachers in Class I to V and VI to VIII can apply for the PSTET 2025 Exam. PSTET 2025 Application process will be started at the official website, https://pstet.pseb.ac.in/. Candidates who are willing to appear for the exam must visit the official website to fill out the PSTET Application form. Candidates who want to appear for both papers of the PSTET 2025 exam can also do so. The PSTET  2025 Application form must be filled with utter care to avoid the chances of cancellation.

PSTET 2025 Application Fee

Steps to fill the PSTET 2025 Application Form

The PSTET 2025 Application form can be filled out by visiting the official website https://pstet.pseb.ac.in/. The candidates who are already registered may skip directly to filling out the application form. But the candidates who are applying for the first time will have to register themselves first. Adhere to the given steps below to easily fill out the PSTET 2025 Application Form.

  1. Visit the official website https://pstet.pseb.ac.in/.
  2. Select “New Registration and Applicant Login” on the homepage.
  3. Click on the registration link to register yourself. The candidate will be redirected to a new page
  4. Candidates need to click on the ‘proceed’ option and enter the details asked.
  5. After clicking on the ‘Register Me’ option, the candidate will be redirected to a new page that will have the login details.
  6. Enter login credentials on the new page that will appear.
  7. After login, the candidate needs to enter details such as the name, email ID, etc.
  8. Upload your signature and photo after entering the necessary details.
  9. Make the payment for the registration.
  10. After all the processes have been carried out. Click on ‘Submit’.

PSTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

PSTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria have been specified by the exam authority. Only the candidates who qualify for all the aspects mentioned as per the PSTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria must fill out the application form for appearing in the exam. In case of any discrepancies or mismatches of information, the candidatures would be cancelled. So, the candidates are recommended to ensure that they are eligible for the Punjab TET in all aspects before filling out the application form.

PSTET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1

Candidates who are willing to take up the post of primary teacher must have the given educational qualifications. If any of the given criteria do not match, the candidature might be cancelled.

PSTET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1
  1. Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.
  2. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
  4. Candidates who possess “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such Candidates have mandatory to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher

PSTET Educational Qualifications for Paper 2

These given educational qualifications must be possessed by the candidates who are willing to teach the upper primary section of students. The candidates who have these qualifications are only eligible to apply.

  1. Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  5. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
  7. Any candidate having a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in the TET exam.

PSTET 2025 Exam Pattern

PSTET Paper 1 will contain 150 questions carrying 1 mark each. PSTET 2025 Paper 1 will be attempted by the candidates willing to apply for the role of teacher in the primary sections.

PSTET 2025 Exam Pattern for Paper 2

The PSTET 2025 Paper 2 will be attempted by the candidates seeking the job of a teacher in the Upper Primary Section. The PSTET Paper 2 will consist of subjects such as Child Development & Pedagogy, Language 1and, and Language 2, and option on subject papers for the teachers willing to teach a specific paper. Full marks for the PSTET 2025 Paper 2 will be 150 where each question carries 1 mark.

PSTET 2025: FAQs

Yes, a candidate may appear for both the papers as long as they satisfy the PSTET 2025 Eligibility criteria.

The PSTET Paper 1 is conducted for 150 marks.

Ans. The official cut-off marks are yet to be disclosed. But, according to the previous year's cut-off score analysis the general category candidates should score 60 per cent or above marks to qualify the PSTET exam and reserved category candidates need to score 55 per cent marks.
