The National Testing Agency (NTA) made some changes to the CUET UG Exam Pattern last year that will be followed for the CUET 2025 Exam. CUET Exam Pattern 2025
Candidates preparing for the CUET UG 2025 exam should know that it will be divided into four sections. This year, students can choose to take the exam in either online (computer-based) or offline (pen and paper) mode. Additionally, there is a change in the number of subjects allowed. Unlike before, when candidates could select up to ten subjects, this year they can only choose a maximum of six subjects. CUET UG Exam Pattern 2025 [Latest]
The NTA will organize the CUET 2025 Entrance Exam in 13 different languages. These languages include Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu. The exam will be held in multiple shifts to accommodate students from various regions. 1. CUET 2025 will be conducted in an online mode as Computer Based Test-CBT.
2. The CUET 2025 entrance test will be conducted in three different slots. The duration of the first slot is 120 minutes and the duration of the second slot is 120 minutes. The duration of the CUET UG exam for the third slot is 180 minutes.
3. CUET (UG) – 2025 will consist of the following 4 sections namely-
- Section IA – 13 Languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi and Urdu)
- Section IB – 20 Languages (French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Sanskrit.)
- Section II – 27 Domain-specific Subjects (listed below)
- Section III – General Test
4. The question paper will be Multiple Choice Question type only.
5. Section IA & IB- A candidate can choose a maximum of any 3 languages from Section IA and Section IB taken together. (One of the languages chosen needs to be in lieu of Domain-specific subjects)
6. Section II offers 27 Subjects, out of which a candidate may choose a maximum of 6 Subjects.
7. Section III comprises the General Test.
8. For each correct answer the candidates will be awarded +5 marks while 01 Mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
9. For choosing Languages (up to 3) from Section IA and IB and a maximum of 6 Subjects from Section II and General Test under Section III, the Candidate must refer to the requirements of his/her intended University.

Major Changes in the CUET 2025 Exam Pattern
The CUET exam pattern has changed to help students better show their knowledge. Now, the paper has more subject choices and focuses more on understanding than just memorizing.
