Nationality
As per the Government of India Norms, the nationality requirements for the aspirants are as follows.
- Must be an Indian Citizen
- Candidates who are Tibetan refugees and migrated to India before 1st January 1962 are also eligible.
- Indian Origin who have settled permanently in India from countries like, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania and Pakistan are also eligible for the Sub Inspectors.
UP Police SI Age Limit 2025
Candidates’ age must be between 21 and 28 years for the Sub-Inspectors in UP Police. Also, candidates from OBC, SC, ST, and similar categories are eligible for age relaxation according to government rules.

UP Police SI Physical Details and Eligibility 2025
Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has set the physical test, which will be conducted after the written examination. The physical test includes height, chest, and running. UP Police SI Physical Measurement Test (Height and Chest)
Candidates will have to undergo a physical standard test (PST), which includes height, chest, and weight. Those who do not meet the required standard will be eliminated at the same time.

UP Police SI Physical Standard Test (PST)
UPPRPB has set the physical standard test for both males and females. Male candidates must complete a 4.8 km in 28 minutes while female candidates are required to complete a 2.4 km in 16 minutes.

UP Police SI Medical Examination
After clearing the physical test, candidates have to go through the medical examinations. Various tests are conducted to check for medical fitness for the Sub-Inspectors, as listed below.
- Eyes Test ( night + colour blindness)
- For Eyesight- Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without glasses.
- Hearing Test for the ear
