The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started accepting application forms for the UGC NET December 2024 examination for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) on the official website www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in. As per the official notice, the last date to apply online for UGC NET 2024 has been extended till 11th December 2024 (11:59 pm). Candidates who have not yet applied must submit their duly filled application from the official website UGC NET or the direct link shared here. A candidate who holds a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks can apply online for the UGC NET 2024 exam.
UGC NET Application Form 2024
UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is a prestigious examination conducted twice a year by NTA for candidates seeking positions as assistant professors or junior research fellows. The eligible candidates who wish to pursue a career in academia can submit their application forms through the official website www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in. UGC NET 2024 Application process will be done online only and any application form through other means will not be accepted.
UGC NET 2024 Application Form
The UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D., and admission to Ph.D. only in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates are advised to submit their duly filled application by 10th December 2024 (11:50 pm). The NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2024 exam on 1st to 19th January 2025 in 83 subjects for JRFs and Assistant Professors.

Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2024 December Exam
Qualifying Examination: Any UR/ UR-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.

The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will be eligible to apply online for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for admission to the Ph.D but not for Assistant Professor. They have to secure a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in a four-year undergraduate degree.
Note: A relaxation of 5% marks has been given for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Age Limit: Not more than 30 years for JRF posts as on 01st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01.08.2024 and there is no age limit for Assistant Professor and Admission to PHD.

Steps to Submit UGC NET Application Form 2024
The candidates may follow the steps given below to apply for UGC NET Application Form 2024.
- Click on the above-mentioned UGC NET Application Form 2024 link to get redirected to the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- A new window appears on your screen. If you are a new user, Click on the “New Registration” button to register yourself. Otherwise, fill in your details and click on the “SIGN IN” button.
- Fill in all the required details: Application Number, Password, and Security Pin, and then click on the login button.
- Now choose the Exam Centre and the medium of exam for UGC NET 2024 in which you want to attempt the paper.
- Enter your Aadhar card number, choose your gender, and category and finally select the status of Employment and the status of the Qualifying Exam.
- Now fill in your Educational Details, the most recent qualification you hold, your percentage etc.
- After that, you are required to provide your communication address, phone number and email ID.
- Upload your photo and signature. Both images must be in jpg/jpeg format and must have a white background.
- You will be directed to the payment page. The payment can be made for the UGC NET 2024 Exam through online or offline mode.
- Click on the “SUBMIT” button. Download the confirmation page for future reference.
Important Instruction for Photograph and Signature
- The scanned images of the latest photographs and signature should be in jpg/jpeg format.
- The size of the photograph and signature must be of the following dimensions.
