TNPSC Group 2 Exam Date 2024 Out, Prelims Exam on 14 September

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the Group 2 Exam notification, including the PDF and online application on 20th June 2024 for 2327 Group 2 and 2A vacancies. This exam aims to recruit individuals for various posts under Group 2 and Group 2A services in the state. TNPSC Group 2 and 2A (combined) Civil Services Preliminary Examination will take place on 14th September 2024 and will serve as the gateway for both interview and non-interview posts within Group II services.

The selection criteria vary depending on the position applied for; interview posts involve a three-stage selection process, while non-interview posts require two stages. TNPSC Group 2 & 2A exam has been scheduled for 14th September 2024 as per the announcement made by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). This state-level examination offers graduates and postgraduates a platform to demonstrate their skills and qualifications. Proficiency in both Tamil and English is essential due to the linguistic diversity in Tamil Nadu.

TNPSC Group 2 Selection Process

The selection process for the TNPSC Group 2 Exam is comprehensive, comprising three distinct stages to ensure thorough evaluation of candidates’ skills and capabilities. Firstly, candidates must clear the Preliminary Exam, which is objective in nature, serving as the initial screening phase. Candidates who successfully navigate through this stage advance to the Mains Exam, where they encounter descriptive questions designed to assess their comprehensive understanding of the subjects covered. Finally, candidates who qualify in the Mains Exam proceed to the interview, where their communication skills, subject knowledge, and overall suitability are assessed. This multi-stage selection process aims to identify the most competent and qualified candidates.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern

The TNPSC Group 2 exam has undergone changes with the introduction of the Tamil Language Eligibility Test in the preliminary exam. Now, candidates face a choice between 100 multiple-choice questions testing their knowledge of Tamil or opting for the General English section instead. These questions are based on SSLC standards. You get 3 hours to finish the exam, and you need at least 90 marks to pass the prelims and move on to the next stages. In total, there are 200 questions worth 300 marks in the exam.
