RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be eligible for the RRB JE 2025 exam, candidates must have completed a Diploma/Degree in Engineering. The RRB JE age limit varies from 18 to 33 years, depending on the post, with age relaxations applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and other reserved categories. RRB JE Age Limit 2025 (as on 01/01/2026)

RRB JE Age Relaxations

RRB JE Educational Qualifications
While filling out the application form for RRB JE Vacancy 2025, candidates need to have completed some minimum educational qualifications as prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Board. The candidates must have completed an Engineering diploma/degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering/Production Engineering/Automobile, or any other relevant engineering discipline.
RRB JE Nationality
Apart from the candidate’s age and qualifications, the candidate’s citizenship/nationality is another parameter for evaluating the eligibility for Junior Engineer posts. candidate should be one of the following:
(i) an Indian citizen;
(ii) a citizen of Nepal;
(iii) a subject of Bhutan;
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who entered India before January 1, 1962, to settle there permanently; or
(v) an Indian national who has immigrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka; East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania; Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
RRB JE Medical Standards
Candidates must be medically fit for RRB Junior Engineer posts as per the norms prescribed by official authorities. There are different vision standards specific to A-3, B-1, B-2, and C1 medical standards which are tabulated below.

Note:- If any candidate has undergone LASIK or any other surgery for correction of refractory error are not eligible to apply for Junior Engineer posts that require medical standards A-3.
