History of Nobel Prize
According to Alfred Nobel’s 1895 will, his wealth is to be utilized as a fund to award five awards annually to individuals who have benefited humanity the most in the previous years. Till this year, there were only five fields for which rewards were established by his will:- Physiology or Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Peace.
In Alfred Nobel’s legacy, the sixth category—economic sciences—was not initially mentioned. The Bank of Sweden created it in 1968 as a memorial to Alfred Nobel, and it was given out for the first time in 1969.
The Nobel Foundation was founded when Alfred Nobel passed away in order to manage the assets and carry out the terms of his will. The rewards are to be awarded by three Swedish and one Norwegian institution.
