CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2025

The CSIR NET Exam 2025 will be conducted in an online format for 3 hours. There are 5 subjects covered: Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; and Physical Sciences. The total marks for the exam are 200, with each correct answer earning two marks. However, there’s a negative marking scheme, with 25% deducted for incorrect answers (33 percent for some sections).

What to Carry for the CSIR UGC NET Exam 2025?

The CSIR UGC NET exam 2025 is going to last for 180 minutes (3 hours) in a single sitting and then only there will be a break once the exam gets over. The NTA has allowed the candidates to carry the following items to the exam centre with necessary restrictions.

1. Print out of the Admit card along with a self-declaration (Undertaking) that can be downloaded from the NTA official website on an A4 sheet (hard copy)
2. Transparent Ball-point pen
3. Passport-size photograph, same as uploaded while filling the application form.
4. Fevicol or gum for pasting the photograph on the attendance sheet
5. Any one of the original authorized photo IDs (College Identity Card with photograph/PAN card/driving license/voter ID/passport/Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar with photograph/Ration Card with photograph/Bank Passbook with Photograph)
6. PwBD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer (if applicable)
7. Transparent Water Bottle
8. Sugar tablets/fruits (apple/banana/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic.

What Not to Do at the CSIR UGC NET Exam Centre?

Just the way there are some do’s, the exam authority also forbades for doing a few activities. So here we have a list of few things that should not be done in any exam centre.

• Do Not Bring Restricted Items: It is completely forbidden to bring study aids, cell phones, smart watches, calculators, or other electronic devices into the test room.
• Prevent Last-Minute Stress: To prevent any last-minute anxiety, make sure all of your documents are organised the day before the test.
• Do Not Break Exam Rules: Comply with all guidelines provided by the examiners. Disqualification may result from any misbehaviour.
• Remember to check the exam location: To prevent confusion on exam day, double-check the exam centre’s location in advance.
