CSIR NET Admit Card 2024: Exam Date Postponed till Further Notice

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made announcement regarding the postponement of the CSIR UGC NET June 2024 exam through an official notice released on 21st June 2024. The exam was scheduled from 25th to 27th July 2024 is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues. The new exam date will be announced shortly through the official website https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/.

CSIR NET Admit Card 2024

The NTA will conduct the CSIR NET Exam June 2024 soon to assess the eligibility of candidates for both Junior Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor positions. All exam-related information including exam date, time, center location etc will be released along with the admit card.
The CSIR NET exam itself has three sections (A, B, and C) that you’ll need to complete within three hours, and there’s no break in between. The good news is that the entire exam format is multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be five different question papers depending on your chosen field of study.

Steps to download the CSIR NET Admit Card 2024

  1. First, you need to visit the NTA official website, https://csirnet.nta.nic.in/.
  2. On the homepage, look for the “Public Notices” or “Latest News” section.
  3. In one of these sections, you will find a link to download “CSIR UGC Admit Card 2024”, click on that link.
  4. A new page will open. Here, you will need to log in by entering your application number, date of birth, and captcha.
  5. After successfully logging in, your hall ticket will appear on the screen.
  6. Download the admit card and take a printout of it.

To ensure a smooth exam experience, please remember to bring the following essential documents to the test center. Entry to the exam hall will be strictly denied to candidates who arrive without these mandatory items.

  • A clear printout of the admit card downloaded from the official website.
  • A recent passport-sized photograph (same as uploaded on the application form).
  • One photo ID proof issued by government (Voter ID/Driving License/PAN Card/Aadhar Card/Passport).

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2024

The CSIR NET exam in 2024 follows an online format, lasting for 3 hours. There are 5 subjects covered: Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; and Physical Sciences. Questions are multiple-choice with four options, where only one is correct. The total marks for the exam are 200, with each correct answer earning two marks. However, there’s a negative marking scheme, with 25% deducted for incorrect answers(33 per cent for some sections). So, while aiming for correct answers is important, it’s also crucial to be cautious in answering to avoid losing marks.
