The State Health Society Bihar (SHSB) has released the official notification for 4500 vacancies for Community Health Officers (CHO) on the official website of SHSB, www.shs.bihar.gov.in. These vacancies for Community Health Officers (CHOs) were announced in 2024. However, due to certain reasons, a new notification has now been released for 2025. Candidates must check eligibility and other criteria before filling out the application form. The application portal will open for the Community Health Officers on 5th May 2025 onwards.

Bihar CHO Recruitment 2025 Summary

Candidates who are between 21 to 42 years of age and must have a B.Sc. (Nursing) with a 6-month Certificate in Community Health (CCH) course from a recognized institute (from 2020 onwards) are eligible to apply for the Bihar CHO Recruitment 2025.

Educational Qualifications

• B.Sc. (Nursing) with 6 months Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized institute or university, completed from the academic year 2020 onwards.
• Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) with 6 months Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized institute or university, completed from the academic year 2020 onwards.
• Candidates must have completed their 4th year B.Sc. Nursing or 2nd year Post B.Sc. Nursing in 2019-2020 or onwards to be eligible.
• B.Sc. (Nursing), Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing), or GNM candidates who have completed a Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) through IGNOU or other recognized universities are also eligible.

Age Limit (1/04/2025)

Candidates must be at least 21 years old as of 1st April 2025. The maximum age limit is 42 years and 45 years for female candidates.

Bihar CHO Selection Process 2025

To be selected for the Community Health Officer (CHO) posts, candidates have to go through the two-stage selection process-

1. Computer-Based Exam (CBT)- Candidates must obtain at least 30 % marks to qualify for the CBT exam.
2. Document Verification (DV)- All the required documents must be presented at the specified location for document verification.

The final selection is based on the Computer-Based Exam and the availability of vacancies as per the reservatios.

Bihar CHO Exam Pattern 2025

The exam will be conducted in CBT mode with a total of 100 marks. The exam question paper will be in Hindi and English and it will contain 80 objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Bihar CHO Salary 2025

The monthly salary for a Community Health Officer (CHO) is approximately up to Rs. 40000, which includes a fixed salary of Rs. 32000. An additional Rs. 8000 will be given based on performance related to health services.
