The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board National Eligibility Test (ASRB NET) is an important exam for those who want to work in agricultural research and teaching in India. ASRB NET Notification 2025 Summary

ASRB NET 2025 exam will be conducted in three stages, first candidates have to appear in the Preliminary examination which is a qualifying test. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the mains exam which is designed to test the theoretical knowledge of the candidates. Then, selected candidates will have to appear in the Interview. ASRB NET 2025 Important Dates

The official notification for the ASRB NET exam has been released on 24th February 2025. The application process will begin on 22nd April 2025 and will close on 21st May 2025. The Preliminary Exam for NET and other posts is scheduled to take place from 2nd September to 4th September 2025. Candidates who clear the prelims will appear for the Descriptive (Mains) Exam on 7th December 2025.

ASRB NET Vacancy 2025

ASRB has notified 582 vacancies in various posts. Out of these 458 are for Agricultural Research Services (ARS), 41 vacancies for Subject Matter Specialists, and 83 for Senior Technical Officers.

ASRB NET Application Form 2025

Candidates will submit their applications online through the official website of ASRB. The registration portal will open on 22nd April 2025 and the last date to submit the online application is 21st May 2025. Steps to Apply for ASRB NET 2025

Interested candidates who are going to take the exam must read the process of registration of the application form.

1. Use the application form link available on the official website https://www.asrb.org.in.
2. In the application form, select whether you are applying for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6), or STO (T-6), or any combination of these.
3. If you choose ARS/SMS (T-6)/STO (T-6), you must indicate your preference order. This choice cannot be changed later.
4. Enter the personal details- Name, father’s name, Aadhar card etc.
5. Submit the required documents, Mater’s degree, photo, sign etc.
6. Pay the application fee and save the application form.

ASRB NET Exam Pattern 2025

Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board has set the exam pattern for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6). Candidates should check these exam patterns to understand the structure, total marks, and duration of the exam.

NET 2025

The ASRB NET 2025 will have one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions, each question has one mark, to be completed in 2 hours. The questions will be based on the candidate’s chosen subject.

• For each wrong answer, 1/3 of a mark will be deducted
• The paper will follow the Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline.

The minimum qualifying marks to qualify for the exam is-

• Unreserved (UR): 75 (50%)
• EWS/OBC: 67.6 (45%)
• SC/ST/PwBD: 60 (40%)

ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6)

There are 3 stages in ARS, SMS and STO, Prelims, mains and Interviews. The Prelims is a qualifying exam with 150 questions for 150 marks, and there is a 1/3 negative marking for wrong answers. Those who qualify will be called for the mains of 300 marks. After clearing the Mains, candidates will be invited for a 45-mark interview.

Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifying marks to be called for the mains.

• Unreserved (UR)- 67.5 (45%)
• EWS/OBC- 60.0 (40%)
• SC/ST/PwBD- 52.5 (35%)
